Carrie Ann conducts investigations relating to harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other forms of workplace misconduct. She has extensive experience in public sector investigations, which includes in-depth knowledge of the Public Safety Officers Procedural Bill of Rights Act and the Firefighters Procedural Bill of Rights.
Carrie Ann began her legal career as an employment and labor law litigator with Kesten & Colton for 11 years. In addition to litigation, she represented clients in mediations and arbitrations and participated in grievances. Carrie Ann collaborated with employers on all aspects of compliance and management including development, application and compliance in personnel policy, equal employment training, complaint resolution, and personnel actions such as hiring, discipline, and terminations. She drafted Working Together Agreements (WTA’s) to enable employees to resolve workplace differences and document employee issues.
After her legal practice, Carrie Ann served as the Equal Employment Officer for the County of Marin where she managed the County’s equal employment and diversity program and conducted the Rights & Responsibilities EEO training of all County employees. She counseled employees, management and Department Heads on equal employment issues and policy. Carrie Ann also conducted and managed workplace investigations pertaining to claims of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and other policy violations. In this capacity, she also provided follow-up training, counseling and discipline, mediated employee disputes, and assisted with labor negotiations. She holds a Certificate from T9 Mastered, a training program for college and school district officials involved in Title IX compliance and investigation.
