Prior to joining Van Dermyden Maddux, Katie worked as the Chancellor’s Legal Fellow in Employee and Labor Relations at UC Davis. In this role, she served as the University Advocate in administrative hearings, administered the grievance and complaint procedures, and provided policy and contract interpretations to management and staff. Additionally, she conducted fact-findings and served as a Complaint Resolution Officer.
During law school, Katie worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Jaime R. Román on issues revolving around domestic violence. She also worked on matters involving civil rights and constitutional law as an intern at the California Attorney General’s Office in the Correctional Law Section and as a certified law student in the UC Davis Civil Rights Clinic While at UC Davis, she was a Senior Notes and Comments Editor for the UC Davis Law Review.
Katie is licensed to practice law in California. She graduated from UC Davis School of Law in 2016 and received her Bachelor of Arts from UC Berkeley.
