During law school, Tessa also gained practical experience in various capacities. As an extern at the ACLU Center for Advocacy and Policy, she worked on legal and legislative civil rights issues. As an extern for the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions, she published several legislative bill analyses, and became acquainted with the oversight process for regulatory entities. Tessa also contributed to multiple campus publications. She co-authored an objective analysis of a statewide ballot initiative for the California Initiative Review and delivered her findings to voters in public forums. Additionally, she was a Primary Legislation Editor for the University of the Pacific Law Review, Volume 48. She also studied Fundamental Human Rights in the United States and Europe under Supreme Court Associate Justice Anthony M. Kennedy.
Tessa is licensed to practice law in California. She graduated with Distinction from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and is a member of the Roger J. Traynor Honor Society. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from CSU Long Beach.
