1.0 General MCLE & .5 Bias Elimination MCLE (CA State Bar Approved)

This training will cover Trauma-Informed techniques when interviewing individuals during workplace and Title IX investigations. The participants will learn what a trauma-informed approach is, and how to implement the approach in their own investigative practice.

The training will explore how trauma-informed techniques help investigators illicit more accurate information, with sharper details, while also ensuring a safe environment for the interviewee. Participants will observe the techniques play out in actual interviews and how they might reframe their questions and approach.

Finally, this training will explore biases and how they manifest during trauma-informed interviews and credibility assessments. Participants will learn about specific biases related to sexual harassment and sexual assault, how to combat such biases, and how prevent biases from influencing credibility assessments of the parties.

The participants will also understand how to identify and eliminate their personal biases during a Trauma-Informed interview.
