Before joining Van Dermyden Makus, Devin practiced labor and employment law litigation for both plaintiff and defense firms.  Her practice primarily focused on defending employers against employment claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination. She also provided advice and counsel to employer clients on complex wage and hour and PAGA claims. Devin has represented clients in both state and federal court, as well as in administrative matters with the EEOC, DFEH, EDD, and the Labor Commissioner's Office.  

Devin attended the University of Virginia, where she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree with Distinction in Foreign Affairs and Spanish, with a minor in French.  After college, Devin worked for the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington D.C. and Mexico City, working on the international extradition of criminal fugitives.  Devin then attended law school at the University of California, Davis School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor.  She is licensed to practice law in California.  During law school, Devin was the Managing Editor of the UC Davis Journal of International Law and Policy. She was a law clerk for the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Diego and a legal intern for the U.S. Department of Commerce in D.C.

In her free time, Devin enjoys running and hiking with her dogs, visits with family and friends, and a good mystery novel.
