Lauren’s practice focuses on conducting neutral investigations into harassment, discrimination, retaliation and other workplace misconduct. Before joining Van Dermyden Makus, Lauren practiced labor and employment litigation at law firms and served as in-house counsel for San Francisco Bay Area technology companies and start-ups.  She also worked in human resources and recruitment at placement agencies and Fortune 500 companies.

Lauren graduated cum laude from the University of San Francisco School of Law where she worked on the USF Law Review.  Lauren has been dedicated to completing pro bono work throughout her career, including representing students at school expulsion hearings and volunteering for Legal Aid at Work.

In her spare time, Lauren is a singer-songwriter who performs at local music venues.
