Lexi Weyrick
Attorney Investigator and Adjudicator, AWI-CH
Lexi is an Attorney Investigator and Adjudicator with Van Dermyden Makus Law Corporation. Lexi has been with the Firm since 2021, when she joined as a Law Clerk. Lexi regularly conducts workplace and campus investigations and trains professionals on best practices for Title IX investigation.
Lexi is an experienced investigator in higher education and K-12 Title IX sexual misconduct claims. She is trained in Trauma Informed practices and understands the complexity of sexual misconduct allegations for schools, parties, and others impacted. Lexi is also experienced in investigating discrimination and harassment claims, both in school and workplace settings.
Lexi also conducts Title IX trainings as a faculty member of T9 Mastered. She provides expert insight into the fast-evolving landscape of the federal regulations, as well as best practices for conducting Title IX investigations, both in higher education and K-12.
Lexi graduated cum laude from Boston University, School of Law in May 2021, where she successfully completed the voluntary Pro Bono Pledge requirements. During law school, she served as an Executive Editor of the Public Interest Law Journal and as an intern for the Victim Rights Law Center. She also worked as a research assistant to Professor Naomi Mann, analyzing Title IX cases in federal and state courts and studying the social and political forces at play in Title IX. In October 2020, she spoke on a panel for a national Title IX Symposium regarding the litigation challenges to the 2020 Title IX Rule. Additionally, Lexi was a Massachusetts SJC Rule 3:03 Student Practitioner during her final two years of law school, which allowed her to serve indigent clients through the Access to Justice Civil Litigation Clinic and Greater Boston Legal Services as a legal assistant.
Lexi earned her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2015, where she worked in the Associated Students Office of the External Vice President of Statewide Affairs. She also served as an intern in the Office of the Secretary of the United States Department of Health and Human Services in Washington, D.C.
