Tribute to Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Tomorrow Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will become the first woman in history to lie in state in the US Capitol when her casket is placed in National Statuary Hall. Another first for a legend who paved the way for an entire generation of women to pursue careers as attorneys. That includes us – two female owners of a thriving law firm.

We continue to mourn her loss as we reflect on her legacy forged by an inspiring legal career. She spent 27 years on the United States Supreme Court, where she championed gender and racial equality. Even before ascending to the Supreme Court, Justice Ginsburg fought for fairness. She argued and won five landmark cases during the 1970s based on the principle of equality. Justice Ginsburg was brave, resilient, and kind in both the practice of law and her personal life. As mothers, we also recognize she opened the doors of opportunity and inclusion for our daughters and sons and altered the course of our collective future in incalculable ways.

Through our work at VM Law, we hope to honor her memory by continuing to fight for equality and justice.
